So I’ve just purchased the hp pavillion dv2000 yesterday and I’ve already experienced the volume freezing issue but I resolved that easily by uninstalling the quick touch software and installing different recommended drivers. After reading many reviews about how so many hp pavillion dv2000s have crashed under a year of purchase, I am having second thoughts. I caught this one on sell at Best Buy for $699 and I was wondering if I should take it back and exchange it for another notebook or is there a way that I can prevent my hp from future crashing issues?

gaming is nt a priority for me .. rather i ll be using Ubuntu nd othr Linux based OS .. so, preferably with a good graphics card .

At least 2 hrs

I would prefer seeing it in person, have a feel about it.. but nevertheless if reviews are excellent. i wont mind either.

I wud prefer it to be with NO OS so as to cut down the cost .

Preferable, If not much stylish, it shouldnt be ugly/cumbersome.. Anything equal of above good will do.

Processor : core 2 duo at least 2.0 GHZ, 3MB L2 cache, 800 FSB
RAM: 4 GB 667MHZ ( So as to use a 64 bit OS in a better way)
Wireless - a better Wireless Solution is required .
Audio - I m a music freak , so need good speaker.
Others: bluetooth, LAn, USB, Card reader,
Graphics: Good graphics, nvidia 8600 or ATI 3650 … or better

I will be getting a new Notebook PC/laptop by October. I have made a lot of research and so far HP tops the list in terms of specifications & reviews. I’m not a very brand conscious person however its one of the factors i consider. Most branded laptops have been proven on the highest quality & could last a very long time. I would highly appreciate your inputs.
I’ve been shopping around on Ebay for the last 2 days and I narrowed my search down to these two laptops.I personally like Sony products,but I can’t find much info about this particular one online.The Dell on the other hand I found very good reviews on,but I have heard some bad things about Dell,not so much about the product itself,but customer service,parts,etc.Anyone know about these two and which one would you recommend? (and,no,I don’t want a Mac!!!)

I’m a student here in ny and in dire need of a tablet (unfortunately) because of my course. Unfortunately, i’m hard up on money. I only have about $500 to make room for the purchase. Any suggestion on what tablet to buy (used or refurbished) will be appreciated. I have researched on some like thinkpad X41 and the other is the hybrid tablet of HP/compaq but really don’t have any idea on how they perform because of mix reviews. Any input on good and trusted vendors will be so much of a help too. I’m tempted to buy in ebay but it might be a lemon and they only offer 30 days warranty. Please help. Thanks.
